Q&A

What is your background and campaign platform?
I have 15 years experience working with the Justice courts, 6 years with Comal County and 10 years with Hays County. I currently am the Justice Court Administrator for JP 1-2 for Judge Maggie Moreno. Working with the justice courts has given me the experience and knowledge which sets me apart from the other candidates to fulfill the duties of Justice of the Peace for this newly created position. I am the only candidate with justice court experience.
How has your educational background and experience prepared you for this position?
My extensive background as a court clerk and now Court Administrator, with the justice court, for the past 15 years has provided me an understanding of all aspects of the duties of a justice court judge.
One of the duties of Justice of the Peace is setting bonds. Do you currently feel bonds are set fairly or are there any improvements that could be made?
Bonds are set fairly.
What Democratic values will you apply to your work once elected?
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Everyone will get the same treatment in my court regardless of their race, religion, political, social and economic status.
Describe your involvement in the community.
Engaging and volunteering with my Children’s school, donating to nonprofit organizations in the area, volunteering and donating during the holidays with various organizations to help the less fortunate.
If elected, would you support the Hays County Democratic Party by your presence at events and, if possible, financially? If not, please explain why.
Yes, I am committed to do so.
Will you and your campaign participate in the Hays County Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign effort in 2024?
Yes.
