Sandra Tenorio 1958-2023

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our democratic icon and friend, Sandra Tenorio. She was an activist and community leader in the Texas Democratic Party, having served as State Treasurer, as well as a Hays County democratic precinct chair. Sandra was the first female to serve as the President of the State Tejano Democrats. She was the founding member and long time Chair of the Hays County chapter of Tejano Democrats and will be missed greatly by the Tejano and Hays County Democrats. Sandra was dedicated to the mission and values of the Democratic Party. She never stopped working to help elect qualified individuals, and specifically people of color.

Her loss is immeasurable and right now it is hard to see how we move forward without her. The best we can do is provide comfort and support to each other and to Sandra’s family as we mourn and grieve her passing.
