2026 Important Dates

Note that if you applied for “annual” vote by mail ballot, and marked “all runoffs” and “primary” (hopefully Democratic one!) you won’t have to reapply all year long, you’ll automatically get your ballot by mail for every election.

PRIMARY ELECTION

Jan. 1- First date to apply for Ballot by Mail (required to apply every year.)

Feb. 2- Last date to Register to Vote in Primary Election.

Feb. 17- First day of Early Voting for Primary

Feb. 20- Last day to apply to vote by mail (application must be in the Elections Office by this date)

Feb. 27- Last day of Early Voting for Primary

Mar. 3- Last day for Elections Office to receive Ballot by Mail (if envelope doesn’t have postmark, OR Mar. 4 by 5pm if envelope is postmarked on

March 3. But best to mail in at least a week early, and the sooner the better!)
 

NONPARTISAN ELECTIONS:  (Saturday, May 2)

Apr 2- Last day to register to vote in this election

Apr 20- First day of Early Voting in person

Apr. 20- Last day to apply for Vote by Mail ballot 

May 2- Last day to receive ballot by mail in Elections Office- Saturday, May 2, 2026 (Election Day) at 7:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is not postmarked, OR Monday, May 4, 2026 (next business day after Election Day) at 5:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7:00 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day (unless overseas or military voter deadlines apply

May 2- Local Non-County Political Subdivisions

FALL ELECTIONS (Tuesday, Nov. 3)

Oct. 5- Last day to register to vote in this election

Oct. 19- First day of Early Voting in person

Oct. 23-Last day to apply for Ballot by Mail (receive in office, not postmarked)

Oct. 30- Last day of Early Voting in person

Nov. 3- Last day to receive Ballot by Mail (Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (Election Day) at 7:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is not postmarked, OR Wednesday, November 4, 2026 (next business day after Election Day) at 5:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7:00 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day (unless overseas or military voter deadlines apply)
