Hays Dems County Executive Committee elects new Chair and 1st Vice Chair

At the County Executive Board meeting on September 14, the County Executive Committee (CEC) elected Willie Tenorio, Jr. as County Chair and Daniel Ayala as First Vice Chair.

According to Hays Dems bylaws, when a County Chair resigns, the CEC must hold an election no less than 10 days and no more than 20 days afterward. This election was conducted in full accordance with Texas Democratic Party rules.

Willie Tenorio, Jr. was elected to complete the term vacated by John Hatch, which runs through June 2026.

Daniel Ayala was elected to complete the term vacated by Thomas Just, which extends until January 2027.

We congratulate both Willie and Daniel on their elections!

In addition, Diann McCabe was formally presented with her Sandra Tenorio Volunteer of the Year Award, as she had been unable to receive it during the LBJ Birthday Bash.

Finally, former County Chair Donna Haschke presented outgoing County Chair John Hatch with a plaque in appreciation of his leadership and service.
